Welcome back, or welcome first-timers.

Happy Lunar New Year — “The Year of the Ox” — to our Asian-American fellow citizens.

And to me! I was born in an “Ox Year” (but it was so embarrassingly long ago that I’ll let you figure out which one …)

Among my recent and featured writing:

— Although City Beef & Provisions company sells more cow beef than ox tails, it’s one of “the last steers standing” in Trenton, NJ’s once-bustling meat-packing district. And now it’s survived the cullings of the COVID-19 crisis. (Loyal walk-up customers have been crucial … )

— My essay for the Library of Congress on Bill Monroe’s beloved bluegrass waltz “Blue Moon of Kentucky” tells the intriguing tale of how it  helped launch the career of Elvis Presley.

In addition to pages about my books and journalism, there’s a section on my music (featuring videos of on-stage performances) and a section on my writing for the theater (featuring an all-star cast of fun photos!).

Check back soon for additional news, photos, links — and more.

But … to come back, you’ll have to stay safe & healthy! (The coronavirus is for real; masks and social distancing really do go a long ways in protecting us, our loved ones, community members and America at large. So will vaccinations, so get yours when you can.)
